About Future of Worklab
At the Future of Work Lab Konstanz they conduct research on the current future topics of the working world. The focus is on the increasing digitization of the working world. How can employees and organizations develop digital skills? What do sustainable and successful flexible and mobile management and work models look like in a digital working world? In addition, we also combine this empirical research with the areas of demography and diversityManagement. How can organizations be sustainably innovative and successful in the future, even with an increasingly aging and age-diverse workforce? How will the integration of often disadvantaged employee groups, such as female employees and employees with a migration background, be even better in organizations in the future? In all three subject areas and at their interfaces, it is our international aim to conduct visible empirical research that also has concrete implications for decision-makers and managers in organizations. We use Linux-based server instances and utilize the automatic scheduled backups .
The snapshot feature has proven to be a useful tool as well. It’s an easy and fast way to store a quick snapshot before making big changes to the existing configuration, for example. We generally use our own server templates that we manage ourselves. Most projects are deployed on their own dedicated cloud servers. In some cases, we simply clone an existing server, depending on the project. Mass operations also allow us, for example, to reboot all development servers simultaneously to save time.
IMPROVEMENTS
We’re able to adapt to different situations much better than before thanks to being in full control of our software stack. Having the ability to activate and deactivate instances on-demand has proven very useful when dealing with campaigns. It’s easy to shut down a server once a campaign ends, while retaining all data, and restart it again if the campaign is repeated at a later date. We also angle to speak with the team at Konstanz to explore the possibility to improve few codes on the application itself that would grant them more control over the next campaign wave.
